Permethrin as a Tick Repellent

Has anyone ever heard of Permethrin?
 
It is apparently a much more effective tick repellent than DEET.  You apply it to your cloths, boots, socks ,tent, sleeping bag, etc. and it lasts for weeks.  I found an article here about it:
 
 
Amazon sells a BIG bottle of it for about 15 bucks:
 
 
It doesn't seem to work that well against mosquitoes, but nothing's perfect.

That's interesting. I'll try it out next summer. Can't be too careful when it comes to those little bastards.
